Michelle L Tanner LPC/LCPC, VA, WV, &MD
Michelle Tanner LPC/LCPC (VA, WV, MD) has been working in the human services field for over 19 years, with non-profit organizations, private practice, and local Community Services Boards, providing support to teens and adults struggling with mental health, developmental, and substance use issues. She graduated from Adams State University in 2015 with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and received her counseling license in April 2018. She has also supervised other clinicians and provides counseling to professionals in the helping fields (counseling, social work, nursing, etc.) that may experience high levels of stress and burnout. Michelle believes that everyone, no matter what struggles they are facing, deserves to have access to services so they can work toward their personal goals in this life.
Steve Mininberg, MS LPC/LCPC, WV &MD
Steve is a Licensed Professional Counselor in both Maryland and West Virginia. He received his MS in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University and has worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. He started his career 20 years ago as a teacher in a residential treatment center working with young people who had severe emotional issues. He then worked providing individual and family services for adolescents at risk of being removed from their homes due to inappropriate, and at risk, behaviors. Steve then worked providing offsite counseling services meeting clients and their families at home or in school. Most recently, he has worked in a private practice located in Charles Town, WV and in his career extensively with clients who have a history of trauma, anger issues, depression, poor academic performance, ADHD, poor peer relations, and issues with self-esteem. Steve believes in doing everything possible to meet clients where they are by making services easy to access.
“I believe counseling should be accessible to everyone and can be an integral part of a healthy lifestyle. Therapy doesn’t have to happen in an office, but can take place in a client’s home, in school, taking a walk outside, or while playing a game. The physical location is not as important as the therapeutic relationship the client has with the therapist. Once trust is built, the healing can begin.”
